CHILLICOTHE LIONS CLUB – WEEKLY MEETINGS – TUESDAY @ NOON

AG PAVILLION – Hwy 287

The Chillicothe Lions Club is a service organization that strives to meet the needs of our local community and the world.

Over 1.3 million men and women in Lions Clubs located in 202 countries and geographic areas of the world, conduct vision and health screenings, build parks, support eye hospitals, award scholarships, assist and support youth programs, and provide help in times of disaster. This is just a partial list of the ways Lions Clubs support the communities where they are located.

The Chillicothe Lions Club is traditionally a "100% Club" by participating in all District, State, National and International programs.

Locally, the Chillicothe Lions Club provides eye glasses to needy youth in our schools, scholarships to help further the education of outstanding Chillicothe students and provide opportunities for local students to participate in various contests and competitions, both locally and beyond. The club also recognizes and rewards students who excel in the area of community service with scholarship opportunities. We provide the awards given to recognize the students who receive the honor of being "Best Citizens", and the teacher who is recognized at the "Educator of the Year". Annually, we conduct a Kid Kare screening by providing personal statistics and pictures of area youth that can be used to aid law enforcement officials in finding lost or kidnapped children. We also donate money to the local Chillicothe Project Show, Project Celebration and provide prizes for the Homecoming Parade floats and bicycle contests.

The club sponsors the "Adopt an Angel" project, and assists with the annual community Easter Egg Hunt, Santa Visit, community cleanup and the Downtown Memorial Park.

Fund raising projects include the annual skeet shoot, Christmas Bake Sale, Flag Program, Broom Sale and a Sunday Dinner-Barbecue meal.

To join our club and give back something to Chillicothe, talk to a local Lion, or call 852-5310 and Reta Ford, Club Secretary will be glad to give you more information.
