TAKS Testing to Begin Wednesday

The first round of testing for the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills or TAKS is scheduled for Wednesday, March 3, 2010. The tests that will be given that day are:

4th Grade Writing

7th Grade Writing

9th Grade Reading

10th Grade ELA

11th Grade ELA

Students must pass all 11th grade tests in order to graduate from high school.

Please make sure your child is at school on that day. Some helpful tips for the night before to make the test taking a little smoother are to spend a relaxing evening with your child and try not to talk about the test too much. Let your child do something enjoyable, but not tiring and make sure your child gets a good nights rest. The morning of the test make sure that they have a healthy breakfast and have plenty of time to get ready for school and not be rushed.
